their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate at the Kalamazoo Dog Training Clubs hosted CGC test.

WOW -- Kathy Kass's Rem is really going to town with agility: she got 2 legs toward her AKC Excellent Jumpers title over the June 23 weekend. She also got one leg toward her standard Agility Excellent title. For the weekend Rem came hom with a first and two of seconds. Way to go!

Kathy Kass's Merlin got another UDX leg at the Holland Show on May 24. He also earned HC - High Combined in Open B & Utility B with two scores of 195.5.

Nancy Hibiske and her GSD, Sarge, attended the Dog Scouts of America Leadership Retreat where Sarge passed his Dog Scouts of America (DSA) test. The DSA test is similar to the AKC's Cainine Good Citizen test.

Nancy Hibiske's long haired GSD, Helmet, pulled a personal best of 1,400 lbs both May 18 & 19 at the UKC weight pull in Bellevue, MI to earn a total of 20 points toward his weight pull champion title.

Barb VanEseltine and "old man" Tucker won Verteran's Sweepstakes at the American Belgian Tervuren National Specialty in Seattle Washington.

Elly Burke debuted her new Sheltie in
AKC obedience Novice B at the Holland KC show. Quite a debute: she was High in Trial!

Nancy Hibiske and Helmet earned their United Weight Puller title. On Friday, Helmet pulled 885 lbs (9.72 times his weight), Saturday he pulled 1,090 lbs (11.97 times his weight) and on Sunday he pulled 1,100 lbs (12.08 times his weight). He may have been able to pull more but Nancy called it quits. No need to pull until he gets hurt. All his pulls were made in under 12 seconds - most only took him 7 or 8 seconds. Helmet took third place all three days.

At the Kalamazoo show on Sunday, Elly Burke and Bijou won Open B with a 200! Amazingly this is
the second KDTC member to score 200 this year in AKC competition.

At the Grand Rapids show on Sunday,
Elly Burke and Bijou won second place in Open B
for the final two points to complete KDTC's first ever AKC
Obedience Trial Championship! Couple that with their third
place in Utility B and a successful run-off and Bijou & Elly
also won High Combined. Congratulations!
